The facility at St. Peter Port Harbour is reopening for drop-in tests for one day to reduce pressure on testing at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital after two days over the Christmas weekend – yesterday and today – during which PCR tests are not available.

The States said: “This clinic is specifically for anyone who has tested positive on a lateral flow device and is aged 12 or over.

“These patients do not need to phone in advance or book a time. They simply need to complete the form here HERE before arriving at the East Arm. They must bring their positive lateral flow with them in a sealed plastic bag and a smart device [phone or tablet].

“A self-swab PCR test will then be supervised by a member of the Welcome Team using the local test version of Travel Tracker. Those patients will then receive their PCR result in the normal way – by text if it is a negative result or a phone call from Public Health if their PCR test is positive.”

People are reminded not to turn up at the testing facility at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital without an appointment. Drop-in clinics are not held at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

Children under the age of 12 cannot have PCR tests at the East Arm. Their parents or carers must fill in the online form HERE or contact the clinical helpline on 01481 220001 or 01481 220002 to book an appointment time at the drive-through testing facility at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

The East Arm facility can accommodate only people driving vehicles. Anyone on foot or a bicycle who needs a PCR test must fill in the online form HERE or call the clinical helpline on 01481 220001 or 01481 220002 to discuss testing options.

Anyone who has symptoms of covid-19 but who has not had a positive lateral flow test must register for a PCR test online HERE or call the clinical helpline on 01481 220001 or 01481 220002 to schedule a PCR test at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital testing facility.
