The Platinum Jubilee Medal will be awarded to members in various essential public services, such as police officers, the fire brigade, other emergency services, prison officers and the armed forces.
The Office of the Lieutenant-Governor announced that the medal will be awarded to eligible emergency services personnel within the States of Guernsey’s Committee for Home Affairs and Trading Supervisory Board, St. John Emergency Ambulance and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution along with their equivalents in Alderney and Sark.

Unveiled in September, the Platinum Jubilee Medal has been designed by Timothy Noad of the College of Arms, the official heraldic authority for England, Wales, Northern Ireland and much of the Commonwealth, including Australia and New Zealand.
It features an image of Her Majesty The Queen with the Latin inscription ‘Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina Fid Def’, which means ‘Elizabeth II, By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith’.
The reverse side of the medal notes the years of the Queen’s reign: 1952-2022.
The medal ribbon has silver edges representing the Silver Jubilee, blue from the Golden Jubilee medal and red from the Diamond Jubilee ribbon.
Made of nickel silver, it has been produced at Worcestershire Medal Service in Birmingham.
Around 400,000 medals are expected to be produced.
Presentations of the medal will take place later this year.
