The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society premiered in London on Monday night, and is being screened in cinemas from April 20, but before that, the next two days will see several local events to celebrate its upcoming release.

Tonights ticket only event will start at 19:15 with the arrival of cast members and film makers to the leisure centre – then at 20:00 there will be an on stage presentation and the film will follow that.

Beau Séjour announced it will be closing early today as well, to prepare for the premiere. Activities will be finishing earlier than they usually do with the pool and gym closing at 17:30 and the cafe closing at 16:00. Public access to the centre will be stopped from 18:00. It will re-open as normal tomorrow, Friday 13, at 06:30.

Today will also see the stars of the film, including Lily James, Sir Tom Courtney, director Mike Newell and co-author Annie Barrows on two Q&A panels at Government House with Platinum Members of Arts Foundation Guernsey.

Tomorrow there will also be an early screening of the film at the Mallard for locals with lived through the Occupation.
