The Flying Christine III was dispatched on the first mission at 19:08 for a patient with a medical condition.

The vessel, with a volunteer coxswain and engineer onboard, plus a paramedic-led medical crew from the Emergency Ambulance Service, arrived in Sark at 19:43 and met the Sark Ambulance and doctor at the harbour.

The patient was transferred to the Flying Christine for the return journey to St Peter Port and onwards by a waiting road ambulance to the Emergency Department.

On arrival back in St Peter Port Harbour, a request came in for a second patient – again in Sark and this time for what was described as a ‘traumatic injury’.

Due to the fading daylight, a navigator was dispatched to join the crew. A second ambulance was also sent to the harbour and following a quick turn around the marine ambulance returned to Sark.

The Flying Christine arrived at around 22:00 and was met by the Sark Ambulance.

The second patient had been given initial treatment by the Sark doctor before being transported back to Guernsey for further medical treatment.

The Flying Christine III is operated by the St John Ambulance Guernsey charity and crewed by medical clinicians from the Emergency Ambulance Service and volunteers from the local marine community.
