Cars go onto a large roundabout on a sunny day. Trees at the side alongside grass verges. Signs read: Bienvenue à Saint-Pierre-Port Home of The Royal Guernsey Light Infantry. TWINNED WITH Masnières, France As well as signs pointing south, north and west.

The Weighbridge roundabout in St Peter Port will be closed from 19:00 each evening from this weekend, to allow road resurfacing work to go ahead.

It will be open during the daytimes to “minimise disruption”, but drivers and cyclists will notice “minor changes in surface levels where there are unfinished surfaces”.

The work, which will last until Tuesday 21 April, will also create two new informal crossing points, as well as tactile paving for blind and partially-sighted pedestrians.

The States said the work will also “improve the alignment” of the cycle lane and footpath along the seafront at Glategny Esplanade.

A poster titled 'Roundabout resurfacing schedule' showing four simplified map diagrams of the same roundabout, arranged in a two‑by‑two grid and labelled Area 1 to Area 4. The roundabout approaches are labelled with road names: Forest Road (top approach), Route Militaire (right approach), St Andrew’s Road (left approach), and La Rue de la… (bottom approach, partially truncated on the diagram).

Area 1: Red hatching covers most of the circular carriageway around the roundabout connecting Forest Road, Route Militaire, St Andrew’s Road and La Rue de la…. Dates shown as 11 & 12 April, with work times 7pm–3am.
Area 2: Red hatching highlights the section on the Route Militaire side of the roundabout and adjacent entry and exit lanes. Dates 13–16 April, 7pm–3am.
