Next Wednesday the UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, Mr Mike Freer MP, will meet with Alderney President William Tate, States members and Chamber of Commerce representatives.
He will also be given a tour of important sites in the island, including the Hammond, the airport, hospital, harbour office and visit the Age Concern social afternoon in the Island Hall.
“Whilst this visit is primarily focused upon our Constitutional Relationship with the Crown, the Minister is very interested to understand the challenges and opportunities facing the island,” said Mr Tate.
Mr Freer visited Guernsey for two days and Sark for one in August, but was unable to make the trip to Alderney for logistical reasons.
His responsibilities include managing the relationship with the Crown Dependencies and advising the Lord Chancellor on issues relating to the islands.
