The 21 day circuit breaker was triggered following a cluster of cases that have defied explanation in the island, with which we shared an air bridge last summer. The latest outbreak has seen an initial 40 people testing positive, with one case in a school. They have been loosely linked to a ferry crew member who tested positive on 18 February, but five unexplained cases continue to cause concern.

After further testing, the Isle of Man currently has 58 active cases.

In a post on Twitter, Deputy Gavin St Pier said his thoughts are with the Isle of Man and its citizens.
