They believe the extensive graffiti was done over the weekend, some time between 18:00 on Friday, and 08:00 on Sunday morning.

The Nazi symbol is occasionally used in local vandalism, most recently during the election campaign when it was painted on a banner promoting Senatorial candidate, Kristina Moore – but it’s usually done in small numbers, not in groups of 68.

It comes little under a year after 40 swastikas were painted on the Noirmont strongpoint, one of the Channel Islands Occupation Society’s showpieces, which includes numerous bunkers including a distinctive command tower.
