How do I get my money back for my Blue Islands booking? Will I get the compensation I’m waiting for a previously cancelled flight? Express answers your questions…
The Jersey-based airline announced last night that it had cancelled all bookings. Loganair stepped in this morning to offer “rescue” flights for affected passengers.
Blue Islands customers with bookings made directly with the airline should contact their bank or provider of the payment card used to make the booking.
Customers with bookings made through the airline’s codeshare partner Aurigny but travelling on a Blue Islands flight, should contact Aurigny directly as some flights may still be operating.
Those with Blue Islands bookings made through a travel agent or holiday company, should contact the company through whom they booked for advice and guidance.
Passengers who want to fly on one of the Blue Islands routes that haven’t yet been picked up by LoganAir are advised to rebook with an alternative airline if their travel is before Christmas.
For flights after Christmas, passengers are advised to keep an eye on the rescue fares page of the LoganAir website to see if more routes are brought online.
LoganAir is currently offering “rescue fares” on the following routes:
- Jersey and Guernsey
- Jersey and Exeter
- Jersey and Bristol
- Jersey and Southampton
The “rescue fare” is £80 one-way (including baggage) for people who can show they have Blue Islands bookings.
People awaiting compensation for a previous cancelled or delayed Blue Islands flight are unlikely to be paid. The same applies for any outstanding expense claims.
Air passengers’ rights rules for cancelled flights do not apply for future departures if the airline has shut down.
