A parody production which squeezes all seven Harry Potter books into just over an hour is set to take over the Jersey Opera House this month – complete with a real-life game of Quidditch.
Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
Potted Potter

The international smash-hit parody Potted Potter will take over the Jersey Opera House this December, with six showings running from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 December.
The production squeezes all seven Harry Potter books into just 70 minutes – complete with a real-life game of Quidditch.
The show is said to have already entertained more than one million muggles worldwide and is known for its high-energy, family-friendly chaos.
The production promises spellbinding fun whether you’re a dedicated Potterhead, or don’t know your horcruxes from your Hufflepuffs.

Children can enjoy an indoor soft play zone, a bouncy castle, and the chance to meet their Disney heroes.
The day will finish with the Christmas lights being switched on, bringing extra sparkle to the harbour.
Entry is free and no booking is required. More information about the event can be found here.
Light Up A Life

Jersey Hospice is hosting its annual Light Up a Life service at St Andrew’s Church in First Tower on Saturday 6 December, with doors opening at 4.30pm ahead of the 5pm start.
The service offers a gentle evening of music, poetry and readings for remembrance and reflection. It aims to provide a supportive space to remember loved ones who have passed away, alongside others who understand that experience.
