Here’s this week’s offering…
Embrace the Chaos

Jersey Arts Centre youtheatre’s latest production ‘Chaos’ is taking place this week.
The production is described as as “a symphony of dislocated and interconnected scenes” in which “a series of characters search for meaning in a complicated and unstable world. Bouncing through physics, the cosmos, love and violence, they find order in the disorder of each other”.

Mapping artistic talents

This week sees the opening of a short run exhibition by some of Jersey’s primary school pupils.
This the result of the work created by young people who took part in the MAPS (Making Art in Partnership with Schools) project, an initiative that is delivered in schools across the island in by ArtHouse Jersey, supported by the Government of Jersey through the COVID-19 Health & Social Recovery Fund.
The exhibition will share the Capital House arts space with ArtHouse Jersey‘s current show, Playtime, meaning you can view the two exhibitions at the same time.
The MAPS exhibition will run from Tuesday 27 June to Sunday 2 July, from 10:30-18:00 each day except Sundays when it will close at 17:00.
Rag Trade

Potty Eco Pots’ next ‘Rag Trade’ event will be held on this Saturday 25 June at West Centre, with islanders invited to bring along any unwanted clothes and accessories to be taken home by someone else for free.
Founder Kalina Le Marquand explained that there are “no rules” to the event, which has already attracted interest from over 600 people on social media.
“You can bring along clothes and not take any, or you can take clothes and not bring any with you!” she said.
“An absolutely huge amount of unwanted clothes are thrown into the waste stream every day. This is a way to reuse them.”
After the success of the intial clothes-based rag trade, the event now also includes household item, plants, plant pots, food and toiletries.
The event will run from 10:00-18:00 this Saturday at West Centre, near the cow statues.
It was acceptable on the… Twelfth Night?

This is a timeless tale of mischief, mayhem, and mistaken identity… but this time, it’s set in the 80s! Listen out for some mix-tape classics that complement the talented cast’s storytelling.
The final performance of Twelfth Night will take place at Samarès Manor on Friday 23 June at 19:30.
Tickets are £16 adults and £10 students. They can be purchased HERE.
‘Playtime’ by Will Lakeman

Will Lakeman’s ‘Playtime’ exhibition continues until until Sunday 2 July at ArtHouse Jersey’s Capital House in St. Helier.
Lakeman’s work recreates the strange hold that childhood spaces have on our adult memories, all centred around the Jersey childhood mecca of old Fort Regent.
