Château La Chaire in Rozel is on the market for £4.5m, for sale as a hotel or private residence.
Marketed by estate agent Broadlands, the 19th century property – which comes with historic gardens – is described as combining “timeless architectural elegance with versatile modern potential”.
The description adds: “Whether envisioned as a private residence, exclusive retreat, or premium rental investment, its unique character and location make it a rare opportunity in Jersey’s property market.”
It continues: “Set in the picturesque Rozel Bay on Jersey’s north-east coast, Château La Chaire is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the island’s most distinctive Grade 2 listed properties.
“Originally an Edwardian country house in the Arts and Crafts style, this building is celebrated for its architectural detail, historic gardens, and commanding views.
“Whether retained for exclusive hospitality or adapted to a private residence, Château La Chaire provides a unique setting and offering.”

Château La Chaire opened as a hotel after the Occupation and is currently owned by the Hatton Hotel Group, which also has venues in the Cotswolds and Somerset. It bought the hotel in 1986, and the nearby Rozel Pub in 2014, which is not up for sale.
The property for sale has 14 ensuite bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, eight receptions and 20 parking spaces, set in two acres of gardens which span both sides of La Vallée de Rozel.
The gardens were created in 1841 by Samuel Curtis, a former director of Kew Gardens. ‘Rediscovered’ in 2002, part of the gardens were subject to a campaign to restore them, which gained support from several prominent horticulturalists, including Eden Project founder Sir Tim Smit.
Commenting on the sale of the property, Jersey Hospitality Association co-chief executive Marcus Calvani said: “This is an extraordinary, unique and somewhat iconic boutique hotel and, with the right investment and modernisation, there is a clear opportunity for it to have a successful next chapter as a hotel.
“If you look to other hotels, such as the Moorings, which also has an amazing history in a great location, they have invested and thrived, because they have developed a premium business model that caters to the modern traveller.
“I sincerely hope that the Château La Chaire continues to trade as a quality hotel.”
