DFDS is set to launch a special Muratti boat service from Jersey to Guernsey next month.

The service will take place on Saturday 17 May to give local football fans the chance to travel and support their teams in Guernsey.

The service will depart from Jersey at 07:30 on the morning of the men’s and women’s Muratti games, arriving in Guernsey at 09:30.

The return boat will leave St Peter Port at 19:00, subject to confirmation from ports in both islands.

Chris Parker, Route Director for Jersey at DFDS, said: “We realise the importance of inter-island travel for sports clubs, associations and supporters in Jersey and we are pleased to be able to offer a dedicated service for the 2025 Muratti Vase.

“We look forward to welcoming football enthusiasts and day-trippers aboard on 17 May.”

Tim Pryor, Jersey Football Association CEO, said: “Muratti Day remains a special day in the Channel Islands sporting calendar, and we’re pleased to see this additional service from DFDS to get family, friends and other supporters to Guernsey for the two matches, and back again.

“It’ll no doubt be a big boost to the Jersey squads to have an increased away support at Victoria Park for what should be a memorable occasion at the new stadium.”

Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan, who has responsibility for sport, said: “I’m really pleased that additional supporters have the option to travel from Jersey to support the men’s and women’s sides.

“We all recognise the significance of the Muratti within our sporting heritage and the role it plays in inspiring young islanders.

“I am delighted that DFDS have shown a special commitment to the event.”

Details of how to book this service will be made available early next week.

The service is also open to non-football fans wanting to explore Guernsey for the day.

DFDS’s routine inter-island offering is set to begin in June.

Plans for that weekly service are being finalised in conjunction with island authorities and other ferry operators, with further details due to be published next week.
