Providing an update this morning, a spokesperson for Ports of Jersey said: “Both new X-Ray machines were operational all weekend.
“The new system is still bedding in, and we have been working closely with the equipment supplier and their engineers to rectify teething problems.
“Data generated by the equipment is being analysed to help improve its efficiency.”

“In the meantime, passengers are asked to place all small items inside or underneath their hand luggage to minimise the risk of items falling out of the trays, as this could trigger system faults,” the spokesperson continued.
“We are deploying extra staff to advise passengers how to prepare for the new process.”
