The radome is nine metres wide and eight metres high and will give better protection to the radar in bad weather.
It will also take away some of the noise from the radar and make it cheaper to run.
If the weather is good it will take about a week to fit, with the radome lifted into place by crane and the other panels installed once it’s in place.
The whole radar replacement project, that started towards the end of August, should be finished by March next year.
