As well as offering a unique opportunity to pick up a bargain and get your Christmas shopping off to a good start, the day will be a family-friendly event where visitors can chat with the staff and find out more about the life saving work carried out by the JSPCA team.
The JSPCA provides a safe haven for lost, abandoned and injured companion animals and wildlife, and has been offering these essential services to the island for over 150 years. Funds raised at the Christmas Yard Sale will be vital to supporting their important work.
The charity has, however, suffered financial difficulties in recent years, with the charity’s former CEO, Major Stephen Coleman, admitting taking £300,000 from it for his own benefit in the Royal Court yesterday.
The JSPCA’s CEO Debra D’Orleans subsequently thanked the charity’s supporters for their help throughout a difficult time, and encouraged islanders to attend the yard sale.
