Opened in 1847, the church was originally intended to serve the Methodist community in the area, but could now be home to a family with a penchant for Gothic style.

As well as being blessed with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two receptions, four parking spaces, and a magnificent view of the southern seafront, the property also includes many original features throwing back to its holy heritage.
Inside the Grade 3 Listed Building, there are tall Gothic-arched windows, complete with stained glass, a traditional vaulted timber ceiling – and even a full hall with pews.

But the pious property’s purchasers wouldn’t necessarily be expected to keep the home in its current form.
Buying Bay Chapel would also secure an islander the rights to develop it, with ‘Grand Designs’-style plans by MS Plannig having already been approved.

“The plans could be adapted to provide 2 generation accommodation if desired as there is approximately 2,300 sq of internal space currently, but this would increase with the addition of a mezzanine floor providing additional bedrooms ensuite,” Le Gallais said.
Potential purchasers will be able to gain a glimpse of the seaside chapel in an open viewing tomorrow (Saturday 18 May) at 10:30.
