Neurodiversity is a broad term which covers an array of conditions affecting how islanders think, act, communicate and experience the world around them.
Such neurological conditions include:
-
Autism
-
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
-
Dyslexia
-
Dyspraxia
-
Tourette’s syndrome
The Government of Jersey has partnered up with Autism Jersey. Together, they are now looking at creating a strategy, spanning three years, which identifies “how we can better support neurodivergent individuals within our community to provide them with better support services and awareness”.
A consultation has now been opened to help islanders share their views. It runs online until 20 September.
HAVE YOUR SAY…
Individuals can share their thoughts by completing a survey here.
There is also an opportunity for service providers, such as charities, carers and community groups, to have their say on the strategy. They are invited to complete a separate survey here.
