A support group for parents dealing with pregnancy following the loss of a baby facilitated by a midwife with personal experience has been set up by a local charity.

The group aims to offer emotional support during what the charity describes as a complex time.

It is open to anyone currently expecting after loss and is facilitated by a midwife and charity trustee Rachna Stear as well as trained bereavement support volunteers.

Ms Stear, who has personal experience of pregnancy after loss, said: “I know first-hand the unique mix of hope, fear and grief that comes with pregnancy after a loss and I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space so others don’t have to
go through this alone.

Our support group helps parents feel less alone, offering a place to talk openly and find
comfort among others who truly ‘get it’. Sometimes, just knowing you are not the only one
feeling this way can make a huge difference.”

Philip’s Footprints was founded to support families after the loss of a baby or child. It also funds antenatal equipment, education and professional training.
