Islanders are being urged to stay vigilant following the circulation of a “malicious” scam message that asks recipients to provide personal details and make a payment.
Jersey Post issued the warning in a recent Facebook post, advising anyone who receives the message, which looks as if it has been sent by a delivery firm, to “ignore it” and avoid clicking on any links.
The postal operator stressed that it would never ask customers to enter card or bank details via unsolicited messages.
Jersey Post also shared a screenshot of the fraudulent message, which it said was first reported on Wednesday.
The text message claims a delivery attempt was unsuccessful and directs recipients to follow a link to reschedule or update their details.
It also encourages users to reply to the message and reopen it via the link, and warns that action must be taken by a set deadline to avoid disruption to delivery.
Residents are reminded to be cautious of unexpected messages requesting personal or financial information.
If in doubt, customers should contact delivery companies directly using official websites or apps rather than clicking on links in messages.
One islander posted on social media to warn others of the scam after they received the message themselves.

The post said: “Please beware of a scam that is going around. A missed delivery message from DPD claiming you have missed a parcel.
“Do not click on the link or give any details out whatsoever. My bank card has just been blocked. Immediately report the message and then delete.”
A Jersey Post spokesperson told Express that the Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum had also been alerted.
The spokesperson added: “If you’re in any doubt that the message you’ve received is genuine, we’d urge you to call us immediately to check and not click any links.”
