Young professionals have less than one week left to apply for a programme which brings together upcoming and aspiring leaders from Jersey, France and the UK to strengthen international relations and collaboration.
Applications for the 2026 Franco-British Council Young Leaders Programme will close at 5pm on Friday 20 February.
The programme brings together talented individuals under the age of 40 from diverse sectors across France and the UK.
Through numerous engagements in both nations throughout the year – including a conference in Paris – the scheme fosters dialogue, collaboration, and leadership.
As part of a five-year partnership between the Government of Jersey and the Franco-British Council, two places are allocated to Jersey candidates each year.
Applicants must have strong professional achievements, leadership experience, meaningful links to Jersey, and a clear vision for enhancing cross-channel ties.
James Linder, one of two islanders selected for the last year’s programme, said: “It was a privilege to represent Jersey in the Young Leaders Programme.
“Meeting leaders from politics and industry, including President Emmanuel Macron and [AI expert] Sir Demis Hassabis, was insightful, and the discussions on Europe’s major challenges offered useful perspective.
“The programme offers islanders a valuable opportunity to build connections and make a constructive contribution.”
Kate Nutt, Chief Officer of Jersey’s Ministry for External Relations, added: “This programme offers Jersey’s future leaders a platform to influence Franco-British dialogue, and I encourage all islanders with an interest in this area to consider applying.
“Our partnership with the Franco-British Council reflects a commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening international partnerships.
“The Young Leaders scheme presents an invaluable opportunity to tackle shared challenges and shape the conversations that matter most.”
Jersey candidations can apply online.
