To accompany the Waterfront eatery’s usual Kentucky-fried fare, Mr Sinclair ordered gravy as a side dish – but was surprised when he went to remove the lid.
On top was a label noting the “prep” and “sell-by” dates and times, with the gravy described as being “f***ed” at 18:03.

Taken aback by the word, the diner took to 15,000-strong Facebook group ‘Good or Bad Jersey Businesses’, publishing a photo of the offending lid accompanied by the caption: “So in KFC today the lid of my gravy made some interesting reading.”
Dozens of users also piled in with comments and tongue-in-cheek quips, such as: “Glad your gravy had a good time.”
“Maybe that’s what the f really stands for in KFC,” one joked.
Another Facebooker added: “Now we know what the Colonel’s secret recipe is. Heads will roll!”

Contacted by Express, KFC’s ‘Head of Gravy’ expressed regret for any feathers ruffled by the mishap and pledged to make amends for the cluck-up.
“The Colonel isn’t a fan of fowl language, and we’d never suggest our team members get in his naughty books,” they said.
“We’re re-training our team members on the label machine and would love the guest to get in touch so we can make it up to them.”
Express has since put the pair in touch to resolve the grave-y mistake.
