It is slightly longer than a previous model trialled by the company.
“We are confident it will be just as good”
The company’s director, Kevin Hart, explained that although it already had two electric buses in service, it was “important to try other vehicles on the market” to try to find “the right solution for Jersey”.
He said: “We are excited about trialling this electric bus on the island.
“The previous vehicle we trialled had great manoeuvrability and although this vehicle is 0.6m longer we are confident it will be just as good.”

Ian Downie, head of Yutong UK, added: “We are honoured to be working again with LibertyBus, to demonstrate our range of electric buses. The benefits of our vehicles are that they are tried, tested and proven around the world.”
He continued: “Not only are they zero emission, but they also have unrivalled passenger comfort, including full air conditioning. This will encourage the travelling public to leave their cars at home and use public transport, further decarbonising Jersey.”
