An annual cycling fundraiser is returning this summer to raise funds for a local palliative care charity – with a new route set to make the event more accessible and family-friendly.
The ‘Tour de Jersey’ will take place on Sunday 20 July in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.
The charity’s event manager Scott Douglas said: “Last year’s event raised more than £17,000 which goes directly to providing essential care and support for our patients and their families – so every pedal really does make a difference.
“It promises to be a fantastic day out for all ages, from kids on scooters to seasoned cyclists.”

Participants can choose from a variety of courses suited to their ability, including a 7km Mini Tour, all the way up to the 100km Full Tour.
“This year, we’ve introduced a new route to make the Tour de Jersey even more accessible and family-friendly than ever,” said Mr Douglas.
“As well as the Mini Tour for those just starting out, the new 11km Bay Tour is designed for confident young riders or families wanting a scenic spin.
“There is then the Railway Tour for those ready to go a bit further, and more experienced riders can opt for the 50km Half Tour or the 100km Full Tour.”

This year’s Tour de Jersey, which is sponsored by Mourant, will start at the Albert Pier.
Participants are encourages to raise at least £50 in sponsorship, and sign up fees vary based on age and the course length.
