A new social enterprise designed to support Jersey’s “stretched” charitable sector has launched to offer guidance on governance, fundraising and operations.
IslandKind, founded by Beth Gallichan with support from Jamie Prow of Make Honey Ventures, aims to strengthen community connections by matching people, skills and resources with the causes that need them most.
IslandKind hopes to respond to this challenge by offering coaching, training, operational support and storytelling services to help organisations build resilience and share their work more widely.
Real change often doesn’t begin with systems or structures; it starts with people who choose to care and take action

Elizabeth Talbot – who is among those working behind-the-scenes on the new initiative – said: “Although Jersey has over 775 not-for-profit organisations contributing around £230 million in economic value, and more than 7,700 islanders volunteering or working within them, the sector is experiencing significant strain.
“Demand is increasing, resources are stretched and many charities are doing their best with limited means.”
She added: “Whether you’re part of a charity, run a business, work in education or want to contribute your time or skills, IslandKind invites you to join a movement rooted in care, collaboration and generosity.
“Real change often doesn’t begin with systems or structures; it starts with people who choose to care and take action.”
