Added to this, 27 parents are hoping to step up their working hours as their youngest child reaches primary school.
With many of the parents skilled and all with Entitled or Entitled to Work status, Back to Work is now reaching out to local business in a bid to find work for them.
They’re urging employers to get in touch if they have part-time vacancies – especially those that can fit around school hours.
Over the past two years, Back to Work has assisted more than 260 parents to get back on the employment ladder and helped many towards financial independence with long-term jobs.
Deputy Graham Truscott, Social Security Assistant Minister, described September and October as providing, “…a unique opportunity for employers to discover this wealth of new talent returning to the job market.”
