The special family-friendly live music events – taking place this year on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June – have become a firm favourite in the Trust’s summer calendar.
The National Trust for Jersey’s Event Manager Karen Evans said: “As always I am really looking forward to this year’s Sunset Concerts.
“The Friday night act will captivate and mesmerise the audience with their stunning choral harmonies, whilst Saturday night’s offering will have everyone, young and old, up and dancing on their ‘cowboy boot’ clad feet. Don’t forget your cowboy hats please!”
Local scientists, students, accountants and journalists came together last year to create Contempo and will be performing a range of 21st century songs in a contemporary choral style.
The Orange Circus Band is described as a “raucous, ‘footstompin’, full blooded Americana / bluegrass act that hails from the UK and Virginia in America. The family band puts their stamp on traditional songs taken from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and will also be performing some of their own.
Karen said: “You can expect the usual format: gather your friends and family and pack a tasty picnic. Don’t forget a rug. Make your way up to Grantez any time from 5.30pm when the gates open and find yourself a spot on the hill in the sunshine (we like to be optimistic)! Enjoy your picnic and the music, which starts at 7.15pm. Fingers crossed there will be a stunning sunset too!”
The Concerts, sponsored by Ashburton Investments, are free but there’s a small charge to park your car with all money going to the National Trust for Jersey.
