GroVida Jersey Limited has applied to the Government for a medicinal cannabis cultivation licence.
In partnership with UK renewable energy and agri-development company Oasthouse Ventures and GroVida LDA Portugal, it wants to refurbish glasshouses at Fauvic Nurseries for the medicinal cannabis operation, which will aim to create products for the UK and European medical markets.
Security fencing will need to be installed, but this will be “discreet” and “will not be visible from roadside boundaries.”
Meanwhile, the owners of Holme Grown are working on an application to create an eastern donation and retail outlet for Jersey Hospice within its car park and replace its disused garden centre and associate glasshouse with a care home operated by LV Care Group.

Other changes to the overall area will include:
- returning 11,550m2 of land to agriculture;
- providing additional overspill car parking;
- improvements to vehicle access onto La Rue au Long;
- installation of bird and bat boxes, a wildlife pond, hedgehog houses and toad shelters.
