All of the volunteers will receive training in customer service from Louise Scambler of the Resilience Development Company who has donated her time on Wednesday 16 November. Local artist Marlene dos Santos will also be providing gift wrapping training to the volunteers on Tuesday 15 November.
The angels will be located in a wooden chalet on Broad Street between 10:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays from the 26 November until 18 December, and will be easy to spot thanks to their distinctive uniforms.
The scheme is being backed telecoms firm Sure. The company’s marketing and PR manager, Natalie Lynch, said: “The St Helier Angels service is a great way to get the community to come together and help one another. Town can get very busy at this time of year so we need plenty of volunteers to make it a great place to shop and to ease the stress for as many people as we can during this joyful period.”
