If approved by Planning, the conversion will involve the existing kitchen extension being demolished, as well as various external alterations to install cladding and pergolas.

The planning application, submitted by MyIncroft Holdings, explains that the “self-catering units will be served with a reception and have a communal pool, similar to that currently provided by the hotel, and all units will have private access and amenity spaces along with one parking space each”.

Whilst the northern block of the hotel received permission to be converted into self-catering cottages in 2021, this new application proposes to convert the remaining areas of the hotel into self-catering units, as “it has been established as the best and most desirable form of accommodation at this site”.

The application explains that “this has been proved by the highly successful self-catering cottages to the north of the hotel, and the four new self-catering units that were completed last year”.

The planning application also states that the proposal will reduce both the occupancy and the site size by approximately 300sq/m.

The proposal concludes by stating that the application hopes to allow “the hotel to adapt and continue to thrive and provide facilities for tourists and locals”.

The full planning application can be viewed online, and a decision is due next month.
