Over £235,000 was distributed to Jersey charities last year from Christmas lottery ticket sales.
Seven organisation nominated by the Association of Jersey Charities and the Jersey Community Foundation shared a total of £236,059 raised from last year’s Channel Islands Christmas lottery.
Headway Jersey received £30,000 to support staff costs for a neurophysiotherapist and a craniosacral therapist, whilst family charity Brighter Futures received £28,000 towards its child development and wellbeing programmes
Jersey Bowling Club was awarded £20,000 to improve facilities and diversify membership, and Ocean Culture Life received £15,000 to fund a part-time staff member to extend the range of educational programmes offered.
Focus on Mental Illness was awarded £12,128 to support a culture therapy programme, Dementia Jersey was awarded £10,090 for weekly art groups, and Laugh, Move & Groove received £2,100 towards music and movement classes in care homes and community centres.
The Christmas Lottery also shared £191,000 between eight organisations in Guernsey and Alderney.
