The decision was made in a recent Parish Assembly, which looked at St. John’s annual accounts, which recorded a lower loss (£16,930) than budgeted (£32,884).
The new budget agreed will include an overall increase in spending of 6%, including more spending on the Parish’s Honorary Police, for which they are hoping to hire five additional officers.
In addition, an increase in charity donations from £9,000 to £11,000 was agreed.

Constable Andy Jehan commented: “I’m very pleased that Parishioners have agreed to provide further invest into the priorities of our Parish, namely our Honorary Police, Youth Project, municipal infrastructure and charitable donations without the need to increase Parish Rates.
“It was a pleasure to propose the first agreement to provide funding the Youth Project back in 2011.
“Since the original agreement we have seen a steady growth in the numbers as well as improvements in the facilities that are provided.
“The local Youth Project have further exciting plans for the future and I am pleased that the Parish has agreed to support our young people with this new agreement for increased funding.”
