Camilla Black, who originally joined as part of Chief Executive Charlie Parker’s ‘Transition Team’, will take on the role of Group Director of Finance Transformation on a fixed-term contract of up to two years. The role will see her take a leading role in the government’s ‘finance modernisation project’ – an attempt to improve the way it manages its money – while also looking after long-term planning.

Steven Mair, who is also on a temporary contract of up to two years, will become Group Director of Performance Accounting and Reporting, which will also involve the development of a business partnering model.

Alison Rogers, who will be seconded from a different government position for 24 months, has been appointed Director of Investment Appraisal and Business Management, which will involve supporting the organisation as it aims to make significant savings amid an impending £30million-£40million black hole in public finances.

The Treasury appointments came as the government also announced the recruitment of Mark Grimley, who has ten years’ of director-level public sector experience, as its new Group Director of People and Corporate Services. 

He will join in mid-June from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham where he held the role of Director of Corporate Services and Acting Director of Public Service Reform.

Mr Grimley has also held senior leadership roles at Manchester City Council, as well as at charity Scope and Capita. 

Meanwhile, Jacquie McGeachie – another member of Mr Parker’s ‘Transition Team’– will be leaving the government at the end of May following a spell as Interim Director of People Services.
