The ‘meet and greet’ has now become part of the traditional build-up to probably the island’s best known, and best-attended, annual event.

Passenger Services Manager for Ports of Jersey, Maria Le Tiec (herself a former Miss Battle of Flowers) said: “Ports of Jersey is delighted to be once again lending our support to this leading community event.
“Many arriving passengers are holidaying in the Island specifically for the Battle Parades so this special welcome by the Battle Ambassadors adds that extra personal touch. We are expecting a busy weekend in terms of arriving passengers and we know that many of them appreciate the warm floral welcome they receive”.
The main Battle parade takes place on Thursday, with the Moonlight Parade being staged the following evening.
Pictured: The Little Gig in Lower Park will be held on the Thursday after the main parade, and before the Moonlight Parade on Friday evening.
Organisers are also trying something new: there’s going to be a gig on the Lower Park after the main parade at 16.15 and before the Moonlight Parade at 19:30.
The first Battle of Flowers parade was stage on Victoria Avenue in 1902 to mark the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
