Two baby rabbits rescued after their nest was destroyed have been successfully hand-reared.

The JSPCA said that the pair were brought into the animal charity at around six days old, each weighing between 60g and 70g.

The kits required round-the-clock feeding and care until they were able to eat independently.

After just over a month at the shelter, the bunnies were released into a protected area with natural cover, food sources, and established warrens.

In Jersey, rabbits typically live in large social groups in underground burrow systems.

During the breeding season, females can produce litters of three to seven young each month.

The JSPCA said anyone wishing to support its work with injured or displaced wildlife can do so via its Amazon wishlist.
