An Irish Air Corp aircraft of the same type used in the high-profile extradition of an alleged senior figure of an organised crime group was recently spotted at Jersey Airport.
Ports of Jersey confirmed to Express that the aircraft, a CASA CN295, was purely in the island as part of a training flight.
It carried out a crew change and briefing, before taking off again.
Ireland took delivery of its first pair of C295s in 2023, replacing maritime patrol aircraft that had been purchased for the Air Corps in 1994.

The tactical twin-turboprop airbus is primarily equipped for maritime surveillance and fisheries protection, but also has capability to assist with logistics support and transport of troops and equipment, medical evacuation and air ambulances, search and rescue and general utility roles.
Earlier this week, a C295 also flew past Jersey while being used in the extradition of Sean McGovern from Dubai to Ireland.
After landing, he was taken to the Special Criminal Court in Dublin, where he faced charges of murder and directing organised crime.
