A local writer and performer will be starring in his own show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
Wayne Stewart will make the debut performance of his one-man show ‘Chrome Yellow’ at the international festival – the world’s largest performing arts event – on Friday 1 August.
Supported by ArtHouse Jersey, the absurdist performance recently took to the stage at the Jersey Arts Centre to explore his personal experience of walking 650 miles across France.
Blending storytelling, journal entries, and original song, Wayne attempts to understand why he travelled from Saint-Malo to Argeles-Sur-Mer in the show – using philosophy, a reflection on purpose, and an obsession with the colour yellow.

Ahead of the three-week run, the Jersey-born comic artist explained the show grew from a journal that was “meant to be read”.
“I didn’t set out to write a show – I just went for a really, really long walk,” he said.
“But the more I wrote, the more it stopped being a travel tale and started to feel like an excavation.
“I was trying to understand what made me do something so extreme in the first place, and what the hell it had given back.”
Wayne added: “Chrome Yellow is about doubt, discovery, and finding something close to meaning in the chaos.”
ArtHouse Jersey producer Robyn Cabaret said the opportunity to take this local show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival “shares the strength of Jersey’s homegrown talent“.
She added: “Chrome Yellow is one of those rare shows that manages to be both deeply personal and universally resonant.
“It’s raw, honest, funny, and brave, and it’s a privilege to support Wayne in sharing it with the world.”
