They launched the inshore rescue boat at 18:30, and headed out to where she was waiting to be picked up, on rocks near Seymour Tower.
Fortunately, the lady was uninjured, and the fire service said she seemed “unfazed” by the ordeal. The area is infamous for the speed of the incoming tide, and every year the fire service is called to help people who haven’t realised how quickly it comes in, or who have missed the many warning signs on slipways.
The fire service commented: “This incident highlights the importance of knowing the tide times and remaining vigilant when visiting coastal areas as the tides in Jersey turn very quickly and have historically caught out many people over the years.”
