He made the comment that “the law is not about individuals..it is about society”. What an extraordinary thing to say.
Law (in a democracy) is there precisely for individuals, to give protections and rights.
Society cannot experience unimaginable pain and suffering – an individual can. Society cannot be given control, choice and dignity at the end of its life – an individual can.
