The 400m hurdler qualified for the Paris Olympics in dramatic style, having to run under protest at the British Champs – his last chance to secure the time.
He went on to progress through the first round in Paris to qualify for the semi, something he described as a dream come true.
Now Chalmers has his eyes on making finals on the world stage including at the LA Olympics in 2028.
“I’m definitely capable of it. I just need to get it right on the day,” he said during a video interview shown at the award ceremony at Beau Sejour last night.
He won the Guernsey Sports Commission Trophy.
