St Jacques Vikings and Granite Le Pelley have announced a new multi-year partnership.

Vikings were promoted to Counties One Hampshire last season, and while the opportunity to compete at level 7 in the English rugby pyramid has been exciting for the club and their supporters, it comes with additional pressures.

Granite Le Pelley’s support will ensure the club is in a healthier financial position to tackle the challenge.

The company, a stonemasons and natural stone specialists, has been established in Guernsey for over 40 years and in 2023 became an independent firm after the completion of a management buy-out.

It is now run by former Guernsey Rugby Academy player Jack Lunn.

Granite Le Pelley will feature on the Vikings match kit, as well as on their warm-up and training kit.

St Jacques Sponsorship Director, James Mroch, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Jack [Lunn] and Granite Le Pelley for choosing to support the Vikings. We have entered another exciting new era for the club, competing at our highest-ever level, and having a really strong group of players who are committed to continuing to develop and push the club forward. That coupled with the talent coming through the Guernsey Rugby Academy currently positions us in a great place.

“I have known Jack for a long time, having played rugby together at youth level, and to be able to work with such a strong rugby supporter who gets our vision is great. His support is hugely appreciated and it is going to help propel the club forward for the coming years, we are hugely excited about that,” added Mroch.

Lunn; Granite Le Pelley Managing Director, said: “As an avid rugby supporter, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to get involved with a local club working its way up through the leagues. I have fond memories of playing rugby with James in my youth, so it’s great to see Granite Le Pelley supporting the team this year. I’m really looking forward to seeing the club’s continued success.

Vikings are currently second from bottom of the league having picked up three wins so far but have three games in hand on those above them.

They are scheduled to travel to play Havant II on Saturday.
