The Siam Cup once again delivered everything that makes it one of the Channel Islands’ biggest sporting occasions, as thousands packed into Footes Lane for a day filled with fierce rivalry, huge moments and dramatic finishes.
Guernsey won two of the five matches – with the Men and Veterans both outright winning their trophies.
In the Men’s Siam Cup finale, Guernsey retained the trophy with a 35-28 victory despite a spirited late comeback from Jersey RFC. The hosts controlled much of the contest early on, with Jersey left to chase the game after falling 18-7 behind at half-time.
The Veterans had earlier claimed the Nash Cup back from Jersey, with the Guernsey men convincing 61-17 winners in a high-scoring encounter.

The 2s drew 21 all with Jersey – with the rules meaning the prior winner keeps the cup for another year. Following last year’s draw, this means Jersey has kept hold of the Fallaize Cup for three years running now.

Jersey won the women’s Siam Cup and the Woody Cup outright, however.
It was the first time the Jersey RFC Women have won the Siam Cup on Guernsey soil, edging a tense contest 19-20 to cap off a remarkable season.
Guernsey had been trailing 5-15 at half time.

The Woody Cup saw a heavy defeat for Guernsey’s Barbarians with Jersey winning 21-51.
