Guernsey Post is delivering a little festive magic this Christmas, with 14 new stamps featuring everything from angels and the baby Jesus to a traditional Guernsey jumper. The two collections, designed by local artist Charlie Buchanan, bring the Christmas story to life with a distinctly Bailiwick twist. Guernsey’s seven stamps tell the Nativity story through colourful stained-glass-inspired illustrations, while Alderney’s collection sees angels spreading Christmas cheer across familiar island scenes. Bridget Yabsley, Head of Philatelic at Guernsey Post, said the designs captured the spirit of Christmas through the islands’ character, bringing together “light, hope, compassion and community”. Both collections go on sale on 2 November, with special 70p Christmas card stamps available for use between 23 November and 22 December. The stamps can be purchased at guernseystamps.com, so there’s no excuse for sending your Christmas cards late this year.
