A 150-year-old funeral company, which claims to be Guernsey’s oldest, has opened a new office in St Sampson’s.

Beckfords Funeral Services said its new office on The Bridge would make it “even easier for families to access support, advice and guidance when they need it most”.

The office on New Road is a “welcoming, convenient space where people can drop in to talk face to face”, a spokesperson said.

Managing Director Zac Hannis said: “No one wants to think about funerals, however, we know from experience that when the time comes, it helps to have someone who will listen and gently guide you through the options available.”

The shop will feature an on-screen visualisation service, so people can see how memorials and headstones will look before making their final decision.

The new office will be open from 10:00 to 15:00 on weekdays, or by appointment by calling 264202.

Beckfords’ purpose-built premises in St Saviour’s remain open from 09:00 to 16:00, with the team available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone.
