Saffery Trust has recognised the long-standing commitment of employees by presenting 19 long-service awards during the 2024/2025 financial year, saying that it highlights the firm’s focus on retaining and respecting its staff.

The awards acknowledged a range of tenures, including a Director; Helen Green, who has completed 40 years of service.

Additionally, there were two 25-year awards, one 20-year award, six 15-year awards, four 10-year awards, and five 5-year awards.

From the Guernsey office, which employs just over 100 individuals, two thirds of the team have been with the company for a period recognised as one of these long-service categories.

Saffery Trust Associate Director of People & Culture, Sharon Coburn, said the awards were meaningful.

“Looking after our people and creating environments where they can thrive is an integral part of the Saffery Trust ethos. We invest time and resources year-round to providing opportunities for our team members to reach their potential both personally and professionally.

“Recognising long service isn’t just about celebrating milestones, it’s about celebrating the relationships, knowledge, and teamwork that make our firm exceptional.”

The company says it’s standing as a leading employer has been further affirmed by its tenth consecutive accreditation as a STEP Platinum Employer and its shortlisting for the Employer of the Year award at the 2024 STEP Private Client Awards.

Over the preceding year, the Saffery Trust has implemented several initiatives to support its employees, joined the Guernsey Mind Workplace Partnership last year (2024), and conducted an engagement survey to provide employees with an additional avenue to express their perspectives on well-being and workplace culture.

Saffery Trust’s Managing Director, Nick Batiste, congratulated and thanked all of his long serving staff.

“With over 30 years at Saffery Trust myself, I understand why team members choose to stay for so long, and it’s important to me that others feel the same sense of value and belonging. I am incredibly proud of the culture at Saffery Trust, underpinned by our core values, which encourages this level of commitment from our people.”
