Vent has introduced Guernsey’s first automated manufacturing factory for ductwork, cutting the time to produce products to minutes.

The new facility was supported by Engel Europa and can produce rectangular, spiral, insulated and custom duct types for a wide ranges of uses.

The firm says it will reduce the construction industry’s reliance on UK manufacturers.

The factory will expand in the near future with a permanent home at Normandie Industrial Estate.

It is powered by a compact fully hydraulic duct coil line, combining smart controls, touchscreen programming, and seamless integration with software which is capable of producing duct units in as little as 20 seconds.

Gregory Zimmerman, Founder and Associate Director of Vent, said the construction industry would benefit from the innovation: “By combining automation, local expertise, and industry-leading technology, Vent is proud to provide a modern alternative to importing ductwork.

“Our goal is to support the island’s construction projects with speed, quality, and reliability, while also creating opportunities for our local workforce and the next generation.”
