Three hairdressers from a Guernsey salon were celebrating recently after they picked up ‘Academy’ awards – The Hair Academy that is.
The trio, from Josef’s in St Peter Port, picked up their trophies at an awards ceremony in Birmingham attended my more than 200 guests from the UK’s hair and beauty industry.
A spokesperson for the Market Street salon said the awards further strengthened Josef’s “impeccable reputation as one of the Channel Islands’ leading salons and highlights our commitment to nurturing talent at every stage of a stylist’s career”.
Lucy Batiste picked up the gong for ‘Texture Expert’, for her “outstanding knowledge and expertise in working with textured hair, demonstrating exceptional technical skill and an ability to create bespoke results for clients”.
Luciana Goncalves collected the ‘Hair Up’ award, recognising her “creativity and technical excellence in occasion and editorial styling”.
Her winning work impressed judges with its “precision, artistry and attention to detail”.
Ella Duquemin was recognised as a ‘Future Talent’, an award designed to celebrate emerging stars within the industry.
The accolade highlights her “commitment to learning, creativity and rapid professional development as she continues to build an exciting career in hairdressing”, the spokesperson said.
“For Lucy, Ella and Luciana, the awards represent both personal milestones and recognition from respected industry professionals, providing further inspiration as they continue to develop their skills and careers,” they added.
