B Corp is a certification awarded to for-profit companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
Achieving B Corp certification signifies a company that is aiming to be a force for good in the world.
Businesses must score a minimum of 80 out of 200 possible points to achieve certification.
For HFL to earn this certification, the organisation underwent a comprehensive assessment of its impact on various stakeholders including employees, communities, the environment and customers.
Managing Director, Matt Westgarth-Smith said: “I’m delighted that after a rigorous 12-month certification process, HFL has been certified as a B Corp. We’re proud to be counted among a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact, but our journey is only just getting started and it is one of continual learning and improvement.
“B Corp certification does not mean that we are perfect, nor that we have achieved our highest impact. It does, however, show that we are part of a global movement working collectively for economic systems change and that to stay committed to this work we must meet rising standards for social and environmental performance. I’m incredibly excited about the journey ahead.”
