Hand Picked Hotels has received a Green Tourism accreditation for its five sites across the Channel Islands.

Fermain Valley, St Pierre Park, the Grand Jersey, and Braye Beach in Alderney have all achieved Silver status, while L’Horizon Beach Hotel in Jersey has been awarded a Bronze.

Julia Hands, Chairman of Hand Picked Hotels, said: “We are delighted that our collection of Hand Picked Hotels has been recognised by Green Tourism for our commitment to more responsible and sustainable hospitality.

“This accreditation marks an encouraging first milestone on our journey and reflects the passion of our teams across our hotels who are helping us make meaningful progress towards a more sustainable future for our guests, our colleagues and the places we call home.”

The recognition comes as the group looks to reduce waste and improve energy efficiency.

It will publish its initiatives online and has committed to training staff and engaging in community projects which improve the environment.

All 21 of the group’s hotels are now included in the Green Tourism certification programme.
