Innovate Guernsey has appointed a new Chair, the States has announced.
Digital transformation specialist Susan Watson will step up to the role, after being appointed as a founder member of the board last year.
Ms Watson will also head up an interim Digital Greenhouse Oversight Board, with IG board member Katie Inder and Barrie Duerden, a non-voting member of Economic Development.
Ms Watson’s appointment follows Justin Bellinger’s resignation, as he’s leaving the island to go travelling.
Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, ED President, said she was “pleased to see [Ms Watson] stepping into the new role”.
“Her focus, expertise, and professionalism in this area will serve as great assets as she now takes on the leadership of both Innovate Guernsey and the new Digital Greenhouse Oversight Board,” Deputy Kazantseva-Miller added.
She said Digital Greenhouse had “done fantastic work” supporting start-ups, so it was “natural” to give it a “key role as we move forward with a new strategy for innovation in the wider economy”.
Deputy Kazantseva-Miller thanked Mr Bellinger for helping set up IG and helping “generate positive momentum” in its early days.
